T-Scan (TekScan)

T-Scan™ Bite Analysis

Advanced Technology for a Healthier, More Balanced Bite

At MetroSmiles, we use the T-Scan™ digital bite analysis system to accurately measure how your teeth come together. Traditional bite paper only shows where teeth touch—T-Scan shows how hard and in what sequence they touch, giving us a complete view of your bite.

A balanced bite is essential for:

  • Comfortable chewing
  • Healthy jaw joints (TMJ)
  • Preventing tooth wear, fractures, and gum issues
  • Protecting crowns, implants, and restorations
  • Reducing headaches and muscle tension

How T-Scan™ Works

The T-Scan uses a thin, computerized sensor that you gently bite on. In just a few seconds, it records:

  • Timing of each tooth contact
  • Force of every bite point
  • Balance between left and right sides
  • Areas of excessive pressure

This data appears on a digital screen, allowing your dentist to clearly identify high-pressure spots and bite imbalances.

Why We Use T-Scan™

Most bite problems are not visible without technology. T-Scan helps us:

  • Diagnose TMJ and muscle pain
  • Evaluate bite forces after crowns, bridges, veneers, or implants
  • Protect long-term dental work
  • Improve comfort during chewing
  • Fine-tune orthodontic or Invisalign results
  • Prevent future tooth wear and cracks

With T-Scan, adjustments are more accurate, faster, and longer-lasting.

Who Can Benefit From T-Scan?

  • Jaw pain or TMJ discomfort
  • Bite imbalance or discomfort when chewing
  • Teeth grinding or clenching
  • Headaches or facial muscle tension
  • Worn, chipped, or cracked teeth
  • Recent dental work that doesn’t “feel right”

Comfortable. Non-Invasive. Precision You Can See.

The scan is quick, painless, and extremely accurate. You also get to see your bite patterns in real time—giving you a better understanding of your oral health.
